throttle body gasket

In the middle of a repair and I just need to know if I'm supposed to put anything on my gasket like a sealant or anything? Thanks guys

never a bad idea to lightly coat each side of the gasket with some rtv.

more than likely. its just air. not like any fluids would leak.

I'd run down and get some. It's the little extra things that make the diff.

Put it together without any RTV and everything is doing great!

Cool! And now you don't have to worry about how much of the RTV squished out into the bore of the TB causing an air intake restriction. Nice!

Exactly. I just did a hospital quality clean job on the mating surfaces. Finishing with some very fine steel wool. I could damn near pick my teeth in it by the time it was ready to be put together.

Good choice... I wasn't so lucky when it came to the throttle body.. last guy who reinstalled this scraped the hell out of the mating surfaces, the thin gasket won't cut it...

I hate messy 'mechanics' !!!!
