thoughts on maf conversion

These are just some theories that i have been entertaining for the last few weeks because im not so down to pay ~$700 for the maf conversion on this board.

Take either an aftermarket (granetelli) or like a GM 3" maf sensor and run it in conjunction with an prolly an Apexi SAFC and use the "afc hack" like honda guys do to run boost as well as improve flow over the crap vaf sensor. The only question i had in relation to this setup is how would the computer respond to the new voltage that it would see off of the maf versus the vaf?

any thoughts from people that can contribute + comments are much appreciated.

no. the apexi unit is simply a piggy back fuel controller that allows adjustability of the factory fuel map, through the manipulation of the map signal sent to the ecm. hence my theory of being able to use the afc in conjunction w/ a better flowing maf sensor than the stupid toyota vaf sensor as well as enabling the ecm to see boost w/out it knowing it...muahahaha

does anyone concur? or am i off base?
