Hit them with your purse.

I tried that but my purse is way to big to be able to hit the thermostat housing

These bolts are known for breaking you can try soaking with your favorite

I would have a M8x1.25 thread replacement kit of your choice on hand along with new bolts.

3 studs, 3 nuts. Which is good. Because you've got twice the chances of breaking them free. If the nuts won't budge, maybe the studs will(nut still attached)...eventually.

Penetrant soak + 6 point 12mm impact socket + breaker bar = your best chance of success.

As long as yours doesn't have the plastic t-stat housing, applying the heat wrench(torch) would be the last resort.

Good luck!

X2. This is the way to go. Make sure you only use a 6 point socket. A 12 point will more than likely round the nuts.
