is there a special puller..

for the rear tail-housing seal on an automatic tranny? or do i just get to pry it out?

Should be able to pry out with about anything, just be careful about scarring. Obviously, they are easier to get out if the shaft wasn't in the way, but I've removed carefully with shaft in.

You can buy a seal puller, like this. They're cheap and work well.

Or you can just pry it out with a screwdriver.

You should be able to pull out the seal, not sure about Toyotas but on most automatic transmissions there is a bushing behind the seal that requires a special puller. Other than that tail shaft bushing I don't think you need a special tool; at least not for any seal I've ever seen. A brass punch & a pry or even a screwdriver will work as long as your careful not to scratch up the surface of what you're trying to seal.
