Temperature unit? Clogged coolant hose underneath

I searched and poked however everybodys surging, heat, coolant issues did not fit this. And I would like to ask some people that may know a thing or two here.

Was recently driving up a steephill here and started noticing my engine temperature rise drastically. Smoke started then after. Shut off the motor to find the spraying hose and a lost nut on my valve cover as if it spun off. I checked the others and they were all a little lose. I found the culprit of the smoke it was the tube you see in the second picture that frayed and started to spew coolant, the one pictured is the replacement. While I was at it I replaced the valve cover gasket.

After doing this it now surges fast and hard, then starts to blow antifreeze out the top of radiator, and a little smokey out the tailpipe.

Other then HG what could this be? Clog?

Your guys help is much appreciated I love this yota and its my goal to roll through the winter with it

There is also this plug that showed up out of nowhere. The first image also shows this plug in my first post.

Thank you in advance for all your help!

You may have air trapped in the cooling system.

just needs to be burped.

Then just how hot did it get??

It could very well be a head gasket pressure test the cooling system see what that tells you.

The needle climbed to 2/3 of the way before I shut it off and let it spew from the hose.

Then limped it down off the mountain to home (4 miles away) and parked it. After fixing the hose it idles fast and surging, while also spewing coolant from the top of the radiator.

I am going to limp it to a mechanic this evening (3 miles away) thank god there's just enough services up here in this mountain town

Thank you wyoming, I will let you know the outcome of the pressure test tomorrow when the mechanic checks 'er out.
