TBI v8 into my 89 runner?

well i picked up this 89 runner from a friend of mine a while back and i have had it sitting in my garage ever since(about 6 months now) my plan was to do a small block v8 with full size axles. well long story short, i ended up having shoulder surgery and was out of work for a short time, then once i got up and working again my girlfriend got pregnant, so i decided to put the wheeler on hold, and sell it. focus on the kid thing, as it will be our first. and once shes out of work i'll be paying all the bills. well i havent really had any bites on it, then i let me mom borrow my 90 chevy pickup and she wrecked it. so now im buying a "family friendly" vehicle and i have this truck sitting too. so im wondering if it would be worth it to swap the TBI v8 into the yota. then sell it, or possibly keep it IF i can get it up and running with minimal money put into it. i know i need to buy mounts and adapter for t-case, and body lift and other small stuff, but what about a wire harness? anything else? seems like it shouldnt be too bad since i have my hole chevy that runs and drives. i was going to run a carb v8 in my original plan. the 4runner was a 3.0 automatic. let me know what you guys think. thanks

Heres a pic, its pretty clean...

Does the runner have a motor in it? Does it run? If so, just make it work with the 22re. I have never done a swap but It sounds like alot of fabrication , especially with a kid on the way. Congrats on that by the way.

By the way, that is a nice looking runner. I would have a hard time parting with it.

thanks! shes only about 2 months along but im excited.

no motor in it, my buddy blew the 3.0 that was in it, i got it with no motor, tranny, or t-case. he said i can have the tranny and t-case now though if i want em. so i was going to get the t-case and adapt it to a chevy tranny.

its worth doing the motor swap but i think the 4runner needs about a 3linch lift to clear the oil pan if you need a conversion kit call 1-805-238-7000 and talk to geno

Dude, if you can get the tranny and the t-case, put a 3.4L toyota motor in it....

thats an option too, but i dont want to put much money into this thing, i'd rather just sell it, i have alot of other things i need to spend money on now, and not to mention im paying 75 bucks a month for an extra garage that its sitting in. but if i can take my TBI v8 and drop it into the runner for cheap i'd like to do that
