Talk about timing...
Well, I spent this past weekend up to my elbows in grease and oil.
Had a front seal leaking pretty badly. So I rolled up my sleeves and dug in.
With a lot of great guidance from the tech write-ups found on this site.
I start ripping parts off and get down to loosening the crank bolt.
I got all ready, read the write up for hints on how to loosen this bolt that is near impossible to get off. Grab the breaker bar and the 19MM socket.
Chug a couple swigs of MGD and start to bear down on it. About fell into the engine compartment when the bolt spins free without any coaxing. The damn thing was barely hand tight in there!! Then I get the timing chain cover off and the drivers side chain guide falls out on the ground. I had no idea that it needed attention. So needless to say that I dodged a big bullet this weekend.
WHEW! But we got her done and I can park in the driveway again.

Kind of scary,
Just makes me wonder what else is loose! What else had the previous owner done.... Kind of wishing I would have just tore it completely down and started from there up. But had to get her done by monday.
Hey at least I have a hobby now..
