Tailgate removal

Since its finally spring time, and hopefully no more snow, hopefully means that there will be no more salt that New York loves to cover the roads with...So I bought a tailgate off ebay in good shape, even matching color, to replace my old rusted out gate. I looked around here, but couldn't find much, and have a repair manual, which also doesn't say much....Looking at it, I'm thinking that its not going to be horrible, but just wondering if theres anything I should know before starting? Has anyone tried to replace thier gate? Any tips?

Also, when I'm done, all of the interior parts should be in good shape if needed.

Thanks

Hopefully, all the holes in the new tailgate line up good with your original parts. Other than that, there's not much to it. Just be careful not to break any of the plastic harnesses. The little connectors for the window seal are easy to break, also. And if you think you might need to, takes some pictures of how it all goes together beforehand.
