tach install help

I have a 90 truck w/o a tach and I want to install an aftermarket tach. I need some help as to what wire to splice on the distrubutor and what would be the best source to power the auxiler for the light? The engine is the 22r-e

Thanks,
Truett

BTW i did search and i honestly couldn't find anything on my truck so please don't flame.

Why don't you get a sr5 cluster from the wrecker?

I second that. Plug-and-play factory upgrade. But if you decide to do it the other way, I believe when I installed mine on my old truck you hook it up to the neg. side of the coil. The directions will tell. For the light, I spliced into the parking light hot wire, so the tach light would be on when your lights were.

Splice into the BIG wire in center of the coil...

Kidding!! The instructions should clearly show how to connect it.
