a/t temp light flickers
a/t temp light flickers My A/T TEMP light seems to come on when I hit a bump, and other times when driving through water. I live in New Orleans, so I do both often.
I have checked the fluid in transmission and transfer case. I added fluid to the fill hole in the transfer case yesterday, but the light still came on a couple of times on a total drive of 2 miles from cold start. Neither fluid smells burned. I had the transmission and transfer case fluids changed in late 2005, after driving in flooded conditions.
I was unable to find a loose wire/connection around the transmission/transfer, but wasn't sure where the sensors should be. I've checked manuals, FAQs, etc.

Thanks,
Mark

Yeah it wouldn't flicker like that from getting hot or close to hot because the light goes on at over 300* F but doesn't turn off until it cools down to around 250* F, according to the FSM anyway. Sounds like a wiring or sensor issue.

Look here (one page down) for the location of the temp sensor http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...34electron.pdf
My neck hurts now, but I think its near the ATF cooler hard line that goes to the cooler (not the return line but the shorter one). Not saying that's your problem, but might start there. At the bottom of the link there is a test proceedure for the temp sensor.
