Question T-case Question

Is it possible for something inside my T-case to slide or move on the shift rod and not allow it to come all the way out of 4H?

Mine only likes to shift out of 4H if i'm rolling. Maybe this will help.

Its not getting in a bind. when I am going down the road, you can feel the gears rubbing together like the shifter will not move far enough forward. Also when you go from N to 4H then to 2H the shifter comes out of the shift rod. I have to pull it out and reseat it. when it does this the T-case is in 2H but the shifter gets stuck in the 4H position.
I know that it has something to do with the shift rods. I need to know what is at the other end of the shift rod and how it is held on that rod.

If your t-case shifter is coming out out the socket, then that's your problem right there. It shouldn't be able to do what you're making it do. Take the shifter apart and see what's broke with it first. Then we'll figure the rest out.

well, the only thing wrong with the shifter itself is the plastic cup in it is cracked. Could that be causing it? The shifter is not able to come up at all when it is installed. I would think that it would have to be able to come up to be able to come out of the "socket."
