from what I hear, the r150/r151 are stronger than the w56 trans so why would you want to do that?

I'd imagine that you could permitting that the bell housing would match up. I suppose you could swap those so that all the bolts match to the engine. Maybe they're the same?

Also I wonder if you would have to change the pilot bearing too?

That's my 2 cents so don't judge if i'm wrong Lol.

Don't give out advice if you don't know. In fact, you are wrong.

Its been covered 100,000,000 times, but NO you cannot bolt the W56 behind the V6.

Marlin makes an adapter to bolt your gear drive case to the R150F transmission.

I've heard the R trans from the V6 could be adapted to the 22RE if the bellhousing from a turbo 22rte was used. Google says the V6 may have a R150F and the Turbo 22RE may have a R151F. So it may be possible to adapt the R150F from a 3/5VZ V6 to a 22RTE series, or a R151F from a 22RTE to a 3/5VZ V6 if you swap bell housings. ]

IF you can find an R151F bellhousing (Rare, and $$$) you can put an R150F or and R151F behind your 22RE.

There is no bellhousing made to put a W56 behind a V6 engine.

What about a W59?
Those were in the Tacomas, right? And those came with the 5vz which is bellhousing compatible with the 3vz, no?

W59 was found behind the 3RZFE 4cyl, not the 5VZFE V6

5VZ's still use an R150F, albeit with a drivers side drop Tcase. You cannot use those either.

Again, there is NOTHING Toyota makes to put your W56 behind ANY V6. If you want to retain the gear driven case(s), but the Marlin adapter.

I think AA may make a Tcase adapter too, but I cannot confirm that. I know Marlin and Inchworm do for sure
