??? on swapping from A.D.D. to without

My front carrier is shot inside so I have been looking for a replacement and it is proving harder than I thought it would be to find one. Currently I have the front carrier/diff that has the vacuum actuated fork and engages the 4x4.

I have found one or two front diff that do not have the vacuum actuator. Since I am just learning Toyota mechanically, I assume this is for manual locking hubs rather than the auto's that I have. Most people think this is the way to go.

My question is if I were to buy a new non-Add front end what other things am i going to have to replace to make it work. I assume new/rebuilt hubs. axles same length?? Brakes??

I just dont want to buy this and then find out nothing is interchangeable and then I have to spend a ton of money. But also, since I am at this point, it seems that now would be the right time to change to manual and lose all the add stuff as well.

Also, what vehicles are suitable donors to broaden my search. I have been looking only for 90-95 trucks/runners. I was reading something that all trucks 86-95 and 93-98 T-100's use the same front carrier/differential. Does this sound correct?

The only thing you will have to change is the hubs, and the diff. The brakes, axles, and everything else on the front end is exactly the same.

You will have a few extra parts hanging around with nothing to do too.

I removed my canister in the passenger wheel well and the VSVs that actuate the ADD and all the extra vac lines.

Here's some more info:

If money is really tight you always have the option of getting a non-ADD front differential. Then all just pull the axle tube off of it, remove the oil seal and replace it with your ADD axle tube. Just thought i'd let you know

i thought about that as well but if I am going to ditch the add system is there any reason to keep the a.d.d. axle housing?

Get some used Aisins and clean them up or buy some that have been refurbished already. You'll need the ones for IFS. Look here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f11/

Ok strangely enough I found a guy that has a 4.56 with a lockright and some locking hubs for $150. I am going to go get it all in a few hours.

Question is dont i need some type of parts to convert? I thought that i read that i would need a few huge...like 54mm...nuts and some special washers or something. Anyone know about this? Toyota closes soon and I would like to do this tomorrow if possible which means i am running out of time to get the parts that i may need.

thanks much!!

If I am going to totally scrap the add system and change to manual hubs, is there any reason to keep the add axle tube? Wouldnt it be better better and make things simpler to just keep the non-add axle tube or is there a reason to keep it.

just seems like more "stuff" down there cluttering things up and more things to leak eventually.

Also, after reading around the past hour or so i think that I am , or was, confused. ADD and "auto" hub are different things I found. I assumed they were the same. Seems from what I read I will NOT need the new nuts, washers, and 54mm socket to swap to manual since mine is ADD. Best i can tell from a few write-ups is they should swap right on.
Do i have this correct??

Correct, at least for the hub swap, I don't know exactly what is involved with the diff swap. You will probably need new hub gaskets.
