Suzuki Axle SAS

Hey I've searched the forums for answers and have yet to find a definite answer. 1988 Suzuki samurai solid axles. Yes or no?
I have a Samurai that has these axles along with my 1991 toyota pickup. I've been considering a SAS and using these axles for the swap. I've read that the D44's are good and I have a buddy with a 85' 4runner that has the factory solid axle and it performs flawlessly.

Does anybody know much about these Suzuki axles? If so is it something that is worth it or should I search for a D44 or a yota axle?
Thanks

So you are thinking of using a sami axle up front?
that's 5 bolt so you would have mismatched wheels

a ton of Samurais have Toyota axles..Sami axles are known for being a swap choice.

44's work but a Toyota SA is said to be as strong or stronger than a 44

Most of the time I've seen Sami's swapped to Yota axles for increased strength.

As for a D44, why??? The amount of labor and money to swap for a weaker set up. A Yota axle can be built cheaper and will be almost as strong as a D60. So IMHO swap a Yota axle or a D60. Even a built D44 has less ground clearance and smaller carrier bearings.

I definitely wouldn't go for the sami axle. they are small and as stated by dropzone, the lugs would be mismatched. Also you can get better brakes with the v6 calipers and IFS hubs on a Toyota solid axle with Tacoma rotors. That setup will also match the width of your rear end without using spacers.

Alrighty thanks you guys! I dont know Jack about Suzi axles so I was seein what other people know. Yeah I've heard D44's are a pain in the a** but are common. I actually have a 1980 3/4 ton toyota pickup. Unfortunately some D******d stole so much from that truck that it would cost me more to replace it then use it as the axle donor truck. Ill just throw those 3/4 ton axles underneath to keep it yota, keep my 6 lug, and upgrade to a tougher axle.
Thanks again guys!
