I am used to drivin my old 84 pickup, well i recently bought a 93 xtra cab with the 3vze. One question what exactly is the ECT power switch for, and what function does it serve?

Is it an automatic transmission?

I did a quick google search on ECT and it sounds like it's a toggle switch on your transmission shifter area that allows you to hold a gear longer before shifting. Basically allows longer acceleration periods by holding gears longer before shifting - uses more gas but is better for hills, etc.
