Stripped flywheel bolt hole

I stripped out a flywheel bolt hole while trying to get my crank pulley off my 22re the other day. Engine is out for an over haul. I didn't have the bolt threaded in far enough when I chocked the crank. Wondering if I'll have to drill and tap it or if anyone has other recommendations that don't involve buying a new crank 😅😅

I cankt tell but it looks like maybe you only boogered the first few threads. In that case i would get a tap and just try to repair them. If that doesnt work i would not hesitate to heli-coil it. You wont need a new crank,

I did this once on a Ford 302 I was rebuilding. I was able to rethread it without any issues. Just use some quality tap oil, two turns in, one turn out. It will be good as new
