very true, but when you know your vehicle and how to drive it, its enjoyable especially when you are the only one on the road. but thats my opinion, and im not some 16 year old saying i drove in snow for about 5 years then joined the military and have only driven in it once since 05, but i spent last winter and this winter in iraq.

Okay, here is what happened. Me and my gf went up this road first. We saw two fwd cars that were stuck...so I drove right around them. After about 5 miles later I stopped to take a picture. I tried to get going again and I slid sideways and couldn't get traction (ice under snow!) so....

I looped the strap around the LEFT side (where a hook kinda would be) and then I decided NOT too. Big mistake. I stupidly wrapped the strap around the RIGHT side (where the lower radiator hose is!) and got unstuck. As soon as I got unstuck I noticed coolant spewing out. I though it was just a broken radiator hose. Nope, it bent the bottom of the radiator. I stupidly put the strap around the radiator hose and the part of the frame.

I finally got home, and my truck is just sitting in my driveway. I wasn't clearly thinking and wasn't the right choice. Their is nothing I can do now, other than think about what I am doing!

Here are the pics...despite everything, my gf loved it!

____ = strap on?

You must be the only person to have ever used a lower radiator hose as a recovery point. I think its time to hung up your keys, steep a warm cup of tea and take up knitting. Knit the GF a lovely strap-on belt for Christmas.

The problem is my front tires are smaller than the swampers, and when I hit the brakes my front tires lock up and my back do nothing. I need two more swampers to complete my set...but I probably should stud them anyway. lol

I read through this whole thread again just to make sure I read it correctly, but there's a fourth incident as well? So on your way to get your radiator, to fix the one you broke in incident #3 (which just happened), you had another accident with a jeep? No offense, but you should maybe consider moving to another state (a warm one that doesn't get snow and ice)
