Im wiring the rear window motor directly to the battery since the wiring for it was all pulled and mutilated before i got it, but I still have the stock switch from the original center console, and Id like to use it instead a radio shack one, but the dpdt switches ive seen all have 6 contacts, and the stock one only has 5, is it even possible? and if so, how do you wire it up?

Yes it is quite easy.

You can take your multimeter and figure it out.

do you still plan on using the safety switches or are you going to eliminate them as well as the relay.

Do you plan on fusing the circuit ??

bypassing the relay and safety switches, wiring for em is all jacked up anyway, and id prefer to bypass all the safety stuff anyway since im not a big fan of it and i have no rear wiper anyway.. it will be fused, i think i read 10-15 amps is sufficient correct?

I'm thinking of doing this myself in my 89. erock, you get yours to work out OK? did you use the factory switch and how did you wire it? did you fuse and what size? thx

They're pretty easy to take apart with small flat head screwdrivers. I had mine apart a couple of weeks ago but I didn't write any notes. It has 5 wires, two are for the light in the switch, one up wire, one down wire, and one input (ground) wire.

On my switch it turned out that a PO pushed too hard on the contacts and bent the pivoting contact trying to make it work. I bent the contact back where it was supposed to be and it works perfectly.

Nahh, I never fully got it to work, had some issues come up and forgot to work on it more.. May have to try it again though now that im back up and goin..
