Still problems starting

Hi My 86 Pickup w/ 22R clicks when I try to turn over it will always start when its warm outside, but when its cold it takes 50 trys to finally get her to turn over and start. I replaced the battery after having my local schucks tell me it was testing bad but the replacement did the same exact thing. I got the battery with higher rated CCA but still has the same problem. I checked my ground, I cleaned it off real well and sanded it down just to make sure, all my connects to the battery and ground are good. I am thinking maybe the starter contacts have warn? On the 22R What is the process to replace the starter contacts? Do you know anything else that would effect starting only when it is cold outside? HELP!!! Thanks, you guys are great

I also think that is the starter contacts. Here is a link with lots of information about it and some part numbers:

I think the part numbers are for the V6, but you can probably get new contacts at the dealer or an auto parts store.

contacts, also check the distributor cap seal/gasket, you could be getting moisture in there from the added condensation cold brings.

I had an 86' 4runner 22RE that would always click after stopping from driving around, then trying to get it started again, it would click. It was almost predictable and always did it at the worst times.

My solution was beating on the starter with a crowbar. A few whacks did the trick and it would always crank right back up.
