still grinding

a couple of weeks back you guys helped with a grinding issue on my tranny (91 4 runner 5 spd.) I just replaced the seat and bushing and it still wants to kick out of 1st gear. if I down shift to first while still rolling, I'm fine. sometimes I can start off in 1st but others it still wants to kick it out and it grinds cause i have my hand on the shifter. What's next?

Sounds like an internal problem to me. If the seat and bushing didnt fix it, and its not the clutch there is something wrong inside. I would look for a used tranny, they go for about 150-200 bucks used (with a t-case).

well to update, I had tried it out as soon as I put the parts in, and grinded while rolling backwards (nothing new). But later drove it and didn't notice any grinding, but the gears seem stiff. will that loosen up in time?
