Holy<expletive deleted>...you're kidding?

Don't know where that would've come from.

Oddly enough though, I found some similar damage to my #3 piston(and head)when I did my head gasket job a couple years back. Don't know what got in there, or how, or where it went either. There wasn't nothing in there by the time I got to it. Dinged things up pretty good though.

At the time I just said "whateva" and had the heads resurfaced and threw on a new pair of HGs. Didn't bother fixing anything else. Since then the #6 piston cracked on me. So I went ahead replaced all the pistons.

Is that how clean a piston should be when the head comes off because mine are black and crusty. But my piston and head have about the same damage which looks worse than yours and my exhuast valves are white and crusty.

Generally speaking NO. I credit the cleanliness of my pistons to the regular use of SeaFoam Motor Treatment.

Here's what #6 looked like.

And #1

I've never seen pistons as clean as mine after 218,000 miles.

SeaFoam really works? The proof is in the pics!

Aww I love itt

3VEEEZY FTW!!

Mine does alright, I need a new O2 Sensor, Clutch Adjustment, and a New front diff seal. But she starts right up every morning, I also let her warm up every morning..

What do you guys think for a new exhaust ( muffler wise etc.) I have the stock one but my motor is louder than my exhaust hahaa..but its not annoying cuz I don't hear a lot of

[QUOTE=muddpigg;51579164]Really think about what you want the truck for. You can put all kinds of effort and money into the 22RE but in the end it is still a 4cyl. Don't get me wrong I love my 22RE and all the performance pieces I got on it and my insurance premium likes it too. I have a heavy right foot.

FTIW- retorq the head and adjust the valves, may just need some TLC. and will make it easier to diagnosis the knock.

You are full of your avatar. Please find me a 3.0 that has over 200,000 without a headgasket change, I know of a small hand full, 1 or 2, and thats because they didn't consider the HG recall as having to be done due to failure.

208,000 stock hg's 95 3vze and i drive the piss out of it and overheated it two years ago when my rad broke
