Stereo question

Hello yet again,

In my quest to make my new truck decent, I'm putting in a stereo.

Now my truck (88 4runner, 22re, 5 spd, not sr5) didn't come with any of the brackets for a stereo but it looks like in originally had the double din sized head unit in there. (I looked at a double din 4runner and it had the some screw holes in the mounting rails...)

All I have is the front panel of the dash down there. Does anyone have any tips or know of some sort of an adapter to run the single din / pocket setup? I have a din stereo and need to get it in somehow. I'm sure I can ghetto-fab something but if there's a way to get a more stock look that would be sweet.

Thanks!

-Andy

Use the stock rails out of another 4runner (junkyard). They will bolt to your single din radio, then you can go to the junkyard, and find an aftermarket single din pocket, and bolt it to the brackets below your radio.

So the rails are the same for the single and double din setup? Anyone know if the bracket that goes from radio to rail is the same? I pulled out a double din stereo on one of these and it didn't look like the brackets would be interchangeable.
