steering wheel swap

I have a 90 4runner with cruise control in steering wheel that needs to be replaced. I have no use for the cruise control. I bought a Grant wheel, but the adaptor won't work. Does anyone know what i can do to replace it without cruise. I pulled the wheel hoping that I just had to tie off some wires, but the wires come into a plug and the plug is in the way of the adaptor. The plug looks to be all part of the turn signal adaptor. Can I swap out the turn signal adaptor with one from a non cruise? or is there an easy way to mod it and make it work.

the black ring that has the plug coming out of it is removable, remove it then your adaptor should have a couple small holes in it to line up with the 2 pins on the turn signal cancel, line those up which should be 12 oclock and 6 oclock and it should be all good, no cruise though, I started doing that the other day but im gonna rewire the cruise so I put the original wheel back on.
