Steering tugging to one side, with screech
Hey guys,
1995 4runner
Quick question, my mechanic couldn't find the source of this one because of course, it stopped doing it as soon as i brought it to him, and started as soon as i left basically. The steering will tug rapidly to one side and is accompanied be a belt squeal in the engine, at least it sounds like a belt squeal. problem seems to be with the power steering, but i'm not sure how to check or fix. should i bleed? should i grease the pully? anyone else experience this issue, i'm hoping it can be fix without a costly trip to the mech. thanks for any help folks... talk to you all soon

To me it sounds like a problem with the power steering gear box. If it pulls to one side while you are driveing straight it looks like one of the valves in the gear box is hanging open. For a cheep fix/try put Lucas Power steering stop leak in it. Its worth a shot.
