Those ebay stops are now $40, someone's struck gold!

 

I found a tip on another thread about using 1/2" radiator hose. Cut it just a bit longer than the steering stop bolts and pack the end with grease. Idk how long it will hold up, but I just did it. Works well, shut that god-awful noise right up and certainly didn't break the bank. The hose was only $1.10/foot at my local auto parts store, and I used some general purpose grease I had laying around. I only needed about 6" of hose.
