Want to change out the power steering fluid in my 4 runners. Will Dexron III work can't find Dexron II?

Yes, Dexron III is like 'improved' Dexron II, it's OK to use anywhere the II is specified. If you read the fine print on the bottle it'll probably say so somewhere.

Thanks, that's what I thought, just making sure it's not like brake fluid DOT 3,4,5 if you know what I mean.:bigclap:

Ah, but a higher rated brake fluid can always be used to replace a lower rated one.
You can run DOT 4 in a vehicle that requires DOT 3, etc...

It's pretty much the same way with the Dexron rating, you can use one up but not down. The earlier Dexrons oxidize quicker. NEVER use a trans fluid labeled as "F" type in anything. Recently however the manufacturers have been going with their own transmission fluid "packages". I wouldn't use Volkswagen, Chrysler or Mercedes Trans Fluid in a power steering system but good old Dexron III is what I always use.
