I was just wondering if a steering column from an 88 4runner would work in an 86 pick up. visually they appear to be the same, controls are the same, so in theory they will work. I just need someone who knows to chime in. thnx in advance

 

They will interchange. The combo switch will interchange but I some of the features may not all work. On the wiring to the switch assembly, there is a white tag with the part number on it. Compare it to what you have. The tag is on the blue wire connector and you wont be able to see it until you remove the two screws holding it to the steering column.

The number is on the oppisite side of this blue connector facing the column.
