Not sure what to look for on this one. Maybe the neutral switch. I have a '87 Pickup 22RE automatic. I have to jiggle around the shift lever when in park or neutral to get the truck to start. Is something out of adjustment or something going bad. The shift lever does have a lot of play in it, but wasnt sure if there is any adjustment to this to stiffen it up. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

 

Sounds like you have a loose connection in the gear selector.

Is that connection inside the cab under the interior trim piece or under the truck?
