Starter ID for 94 SR5?

Hey all...time for a new starter in my 94SR5 but evidently there are 2 different torque ratings and I can't figure which one I should be using...the low or the high.

Any wisdom on how I can find out which part to buy woud be appreciated. They are wildly different in price. Aside from 1.6 lbs difference in weight these parts seem identical. Hmmmmm?

Thanks.

What engine? V6 would probably be considered "high torque" otherwise the 22re would probably be the low torque option.

You don't need a new starter; I'm betting the farm you just need to replace the copper contacts. You can get both of them (purchased separately) from the dealer for less than $25. There are a dozen or more posts on this here; do a search on STARTER CONTACTS.

If you wanted to get technical, you'd want the high-torque / gear reduction starter in cold climate and the other in more moderate climate. The difference being the high-torque starter doesn't spin the engine as fast as the other, but also doesn't put as much of a load on the battery during cranking.
However, I see two starters for your year, one for the 4 cyl and one for the 6 cyl. The 4 cyl get's the gear reduction / high-torque and the 6 cyl gets the other.
