squeal noise in top end of engine at high RPM

as the title said...

when you get at the top end of a high rpm (like, ready to UP shift) I get this annoying squeal in the engine. I though it was a pully tensioner or the PS pump or the new water pump, so I took the belts off and tried it and it still screeches when the RPMs are high (going to put a tach on it and see just how high)
I have to drive careful and shift sooner, and cant low gear up a hill with a med-high RPM or it screeeeeches.

whats in there that would make that noise?
it isn't the PS water pump or belt tensioner wheel....

do cam bearings make a noise like that when they wear out?

other than that it runs like a top.

I had a similar issue. It was my alternator belt. At low to moderate revs it would hold contact but once I really got her spinning it would slip and squeal Check your belts and tighten as needed.

If you have the 3vze V-6, it sounds like it is probably your #2 timing belt tension pulley, located under the TB shroud.

its a 22 re.

I took the PS pump belt off to check it isnt that one.

I actually forgot to take the water pump belt off and see if the squeel is still there, its a new pump and a new belt

that belt runs the alternator too.

I'll try it with all the belts off and get back to ya. I am going to bet I got a defective water pump, it turned a little stiff out of the box... I shoulda taken it back maybe.
