Speedo Cable Part Numbers

Hi,

I'm trying to get a replacement for my speedo cable in Canada. The truck itself is a 1989 reg cab pickup, 2wd, 4 speed W46 (that's what it says behind the door) - It's a US truck originally from California.

The cable routes out of the firewall, behind the engine and over along the transmission tunnel (on the underside of it) to the right hand side of the transmission (from the driver's seat)

It attaches to the transmission about where the shifter is (distance from the front of the tranny)

The parts folks at the local toyota dealership have tried:

83710-89179
83710-89180

Both of which are too short. Their systems only allow for a VIN entry which is supposed to provide the correct part so I don't have a list of all the potentials?

Help?

Thanks
Adrien

Ya - that might do the trick but I'm going to try to see if I can find one through a place I used to get parts from in California.

It's perplexing though - according to the dealership here their computer is telling them that I should have a G Series transmission in it but the stamp from the factory on the door pillar says W46

So the only cables they're able to source me are for the transmission that's not in the truck.

Seems a little weird to me.

I did take a look at the parts list - didn't have what I was looking for.
