Just had my 94 done yesterday at Boulder Toyota Scion. They did a full alignment also. Suggested I replace the idler arm but i said i woudl probably hold off and he didn't push it at all. That place seems pretty good, they had quite an operation there, with about 20 bays going at once.

So get me straight here...if I call toyota with my second hand 94runner, have them check the VIN and if it happens to be one of the right numbers they will fix the head gaskets and steering components even though the truck is 15 years old and I didn't buy it new? Sounds waaaaaaaaay too good to be true.

Yeah, I'm at Beaverton Toyota in OR getting mine done now, and I'm not the original owner. They also have a pretty cool lobby they remodeled in the last month, and when I talked to one of the parts guys he said he'd just gotten back from 11 months laid off. The service dept. is busy, so at least this dealership seems to be making it's way out of this recession!

If you own one of these models and toyota has not sent you a notice,.......
you can probably call or drop in to a dealer service and they will do it for free!!

Hey, you go where you gotta to get the job done right, right? I'm originally from Beaverton/Aloha and was home visiting family for the holidays. The overall experience was good, they didn't try to sell me anything extra or anything, even though my idler arm is bad enough it's contacting the frame. Might have had something to do with the condition of my vehicle, muddy and lifted, plus the engine swap. They probably figured I do most of the work myself and wouldn't pay for them to.

I'm taking my 90 sr5 and having the relay rod done. On Wed. After that the whole front end will be new. Very happy... Now just need to adjust the lifter rattle and the right front spindle bushing and will be good to roll for a long time..

I called both of my local Toyota dealerships today and ask about my 94 4Runner and both of them said "there are no recalls available for a vehicle that old." Obviously that is BS and I tried to explain that but only met resistance from the service dept. As a matter of fact both of them were down right arse holes. I know they must be stressed with all that is going on with Toyota right now but that isn't my fault. I thought Chevrolet service writers were bad.....ughhh!
Anyway....anyone have any other suggestions on how I can find out any info for my 94? Thanks

Got my steering rod replaced and aligned on wed. Took them 4 hrs or so easy experience. Happy overall. Except I wish my hg would have been recall also. But o well the whole front end is new now except spindle bush on r\f is shot I do believe.
