I have a '91 Runner and a '92 Pickup, both 3VZE. When I got the pickup, I opened the hood and found these very small 5mm wires, as oppoed to the thicker, what I assume is 8mm, wires that were on my Runner when I bought it.

I don't like the look of the small wires, but the engine runs and performs great. I had seen these once before on a Runner that I was looking at, and just figured the guy used cheapo wires on it.

So are these 5mm stock wires? I just want to know what to expect when I go to get new wires, I'd rather not put the thin ones back on, unless that is stock size and not a problem.....not sure why, but the thicker ones just seem better to me.

Here are some pics of the 5mm in the Pickup compared to thicker (8mm) in the Runner:

$46.73. Free shipping. (Pic is wrong).
no competition, they ROCK!

average price, and they are hands down some of the best quality for OEM replacements I have EVER seen!

I came from a set of Accel 8mm to these NGK's, and there's no looking back

the NGK's are either 5mm or 7mm, I can't remember

Any opinions on the 5mm wires above? Are they stock size?

I have seen them on a few 3VZE's. Mine runs great, but for some reason these small wires bother me.

Any opinions on the Yazaki wires? I was thinking about swapping them out from my Runner to my Pickup before the Runner gets sold, I don't like the 5mm wires on the Pickup now.

Yeah, those are stock wires. I have them on both of mine, with no problems. I replaced my wires with a new set from Toyota and they were the same 5mm wires. The Toyota set came with all new mounting brackets too, which was nice since some of mine were broken. Quite a bit more expensive though, I think I spent $120 for the wires and new plugs through the stealership. I'm not going to complain though, because the truck is running much better now...

Ouch. I don't buy anything from the stealership unless I absolutely have to. They always charge way too much no matter what you buy.
