Spare tire on top of a 4runner?

Hey folks I'm looking to mount the spare tire on top of my runner in the rack that I have and was wondering if any of ya'll have done this and if so did it increase body roll enough that you noticed? I don't do any hard wheeling anymore just a lot of camping in remote areas and want to be able to mount an extra fuel tank where the spare is now. I guess the real question is will the extra weight of a 31" spare coupled with a 5 gallon fuel can, 5 gallon water can and the ice chest cause any problems. Let me remind you that I have added coils in the rear as per Zuk and those things stopped whatever body roll I had in the past.

I would be worried about the coils, I'd be worried about that top supporting all that wieght.

We need to get Corey in here. He has the write up on his load warrior rack. He doesnt have the spare up there, but enough other stuff its probably the same weight.
Here is the link.

Im planning to get the load warrior and mount my spare, hi lift, jerry can, ax, and shovel up there. I hope its not to heavy.

Anyways, i would like to see where this goes.

With a 31 i doubt your really gonna notice it. I keep my spare up top and i didn't really notice any difference when i took it off. Your 31 is alot less weight so you should be fine...

So far the top and mounting rails have had no issues but it is a fiber glass 1st gen top.

ooooh kaaayyyy...

I'd say polyfill the tires and you don't need a spare.

Actually im not so sure about putting all that weight on the top, when you combine the tire with everything else you have up there.

With mine i have holes cut in the top and the rear mounts for the rack are welded onto the roll bar inside. The front is bolted onto the roof of the cab. So its sturdy enough to support quite a bit of weight.
