Indeed. I had to order mine but the shipping wasn't that bad. I think I paid 400$ for 5 tires and the shipping was about 70$. I couldn't pass that up.

 

That's not bad, do you really trust the retread on the front though??? I have never ran them so I'm not sure.

 

I searched a bit on tread wright based on Junkers' posts and signature. They seem like another high quality retreading place. I like that you can have them match your sidewalls by type. I especially love the winter walnut shell additive to the rubber that makes them as effective as studded tires but wear and drive like all season rubber. Modern retreading is a growing and maturing field. Its considered green, so there is a lot of incentive to operate a business like that, I'm sure. Its not the old shady bigrig tire retreading operations that you used to see on the side of the road alll the time with different treads clearly visible in layers... eesh... its basically like a real re manufacturing process. I haven't had the opportunity to order tires and wait for a good long time, so I haven't gotten retreads myself, but I hear really good things and would seriously consider buying from those treadwright guys. here's their site:

I ran them on the pickup for a while (about 8,000 miles IIRC) and the only issue I ever had was that they won't clean out ice unless you air them down. They work great in mud, rocks, loose dirt and gravel. I now have them on the 4runner (same set of tires) and have a few thousand more miles on them and they still have deep tread. They are tough enough that I've never cut one (knock on wood) and the spare that I bought at the same time has never been on the ground.

If I remeber right I got mine in 4 days. If they made 33/10.50/15's I'd be ordering a set for my next upgrade.

This is how they look on the front of the runner. I did take a box cutter and sipe them myself (yes it voided the warrantee but I didn't really care). I've tried to kill them and it just can't be done, they must have some Toyota in there somewhere since they just keep on going.
