Source for Grille to Body Clips?

Anyone know where I can find these pesky little clips that connect the grille to the body for an '87 4Runner? Some of mine are MIA and I'd like to take care of it while the front is peeled apart. I attached a very crude diagram (sorry digicam isn't working right now) trying to explain what I'm talking about. The clip just snaps into the circled holder and it's inserted into a slot in the body. Would appreciate any leads on these buggers, preferably other than the dealer

I dont understand why you avoid the best source to actually get them. Its kinda like looking for water, but saying you want to only look in Death Valley. Oh well, run all over the place. But we stock them and they are cheap. But I work for an evil dealer.

Ditto- they were more than reasonable at my local dealer. My time is worth the fuss- isn't yours?

I finally cut off all the zip ties I had used to replace the clips as they broke. I got the clips from the local dealer. They're cheap.

Alright, I'm convinced...can I get them individually or do I have to get them in bulk...cause I only need like 10 of them.

Yeah those little clips are annoying as hell. I end up snapping those little clips every time I slaughter a deer or smash a tree lol. Only thing more annoying than those are the clips for that little black plastic trim behind the doors that says 4Runner and is like 8"x24" ya know? Uhhg.

But yeah, go to autozone and check their plastic body clip connector thingys section. I've found with a little shaving those work dandy.

You can get the clips individually from the dealer. I'd wait until you need a big ticket item from a dealer. Buy that item from someone like Toyota of Dallas (trdparts4u.com) and tack the clips onto your order. Use zip ties until then. The zip ties work very well if you're creative. I only eliminated the zip ties because it was such a pain to cut them off and meticulously reinstall them every time I took off the grill. I was doing a lot of work on the truck at the time. I never found a generic replacement for the grill clips.

Don't forget the magic of bailing wire! I swear, my truck is held together with nothin but zip-ties, bailing wire, duct tape, and hope!

But seriously, i've found that bailing wire works much better than zip ties. Not only is it much stronger, but it's usually a lot easier to untwist the end's rather than having to snip the zip ties.

Thats quite a pretty diagram. The clips probably cost next to nothing at the dealer, and you might as well atleast ask.
