Sound while turning engine
Hi all,
Just picked up a 1990 22re pickup, it’s 2wd, 2.4L. 4 speed.
I pulled off the valve cover to check timing chain and adjust valves. When I turn the engine by hand there is a sound and I’m not sure if it is a normal sound. Here is a video

I appreciate you input!

Sounds like compression getting by the piston rings.
All engines make such noise when turned over slowly . More or less.
A compression test is in order to see what cylinder and valve condition really is.
