ok so my buddy has a 91 sas yota and i love the swap. so i think im going to do the swap in my truck in stead of going 4 in susp. and 3 in body.
now it is the v6 and i read up that you wanna move the front hanger ahead 3/4 of a inch to ensure total clearance. is this true?
a buddy has a rolling 81 that im gonna strip the axle out of. so i think i can do this relativly cheap correct?
any imput or tips is much thanked.

 

Ok i looked into this and insted of hasling with a title im going to buy the whole kit and axle for 500 from a guy that lifted a few of my buddies trucks. only thing it doesnt come with is the steering. i could fab a cross over steering the same way my buddy has or spend the 400 more just for steering.
a buddy that i work with is gonna weld it ( i can lay down a good weld but he has his cert. so im just gonna let him do it.
Than asap im going to have it taken into leschwabs (i lost my license due to some thing stupid and would rather not say.) and have some 35in baja claws put under it. im not sure what im going to go with for wheels yet i guess ill just look around. ill just make payments every month.

so the sas will soon be under way. ill get pics as it happens. any advice would be great. thanks

Very nice. Now I'm not sure if I recall correctly, but I think you have to swap in a rear sump oil pan so you're not knocking it on the steering. Caint recall if that was for leaf sprung sas's or 4link. Alcohol's startin to kick in so my minds startin to kick out.

 

lol the oilpan doesnt need to be replaced. a buddy did his swap and had no problems. and its threw a guy in concrete wa. (up river guy) and his work is great so im going to go threw him.

 

Please dont fab your own steering (for safety's sake)
