I'm having this problem of hard start when warm also in my 1992 2wd pickup with 22re. Been working on it for a year....no luck. While not recommended by some, I leave the Fp-B diagnostic wired so that the fuel pump will start when i turn the ignition to on. If truck is hot if I turn ignition to on for 5-10s, it starts relatively easy. It starts but I pump the pedal a bit to get it up to speed. I've replaced fuel pump, injectors, coolant temperature sensors, tested the cold start and cold start injector timer switch. THis seems to be a fairly common problem with no clear solution.

I will try some ethanol free fuel. These vehicles were not designed for gasoline containing ethanol.

 

The other day my truck was sitting in the harsh sun on a hot (>95F) day. It hadn't been run for a couple days, and exhibited the same hard starting issue as it does after a heat soak.

 

I was thinking maybe had something to do with the throttle plate sticking open on the throttlebody causing the throttle position sensor to be off what do you guys think?
it only does it for me when it’s hot outside and the truck has been sitting for 2 to 4 hours after driving but it only does it sometimes Has never done it when the engine is cold or after four hours then I thought it might have something to do with the closed loop with the o2 Sensor

 

I don't see how jumping the Fp-B on diagnostic would get the truck started on first crank if it was a stuck throttle plate.

BTW, I did run a tank of ethanol free fuel in my truck about 6 months ago. It didn't make any difference (except a few more miles per gallon).

 

Weird....definitely something getting heated causes the problem.
