Some good news!!

Alright, first of all I am 19. I am about to graduate UTI in houston.

I am in the Nissan program (I wanted to do toyota, but the school is in illinois and I didnt want to go up there for only 3 months!!), and my plan is to work in a dealership.

But once I graduate I am going to move back in with my mother, for about a year, then I am off to austin, Tx.

Well this is the good news:
If I move back home, I will not have to pay and bills. So that means I will be able to save up some money for the move, and I am going to do some stuff to my truck.

Here are the plans:
1. rebuild the motor (I am thinking about the LCE stroker kit, but dont know yet, and a TRD stage 1 cam)
2. remove the blocks and the torsion bar crank.
3. 33/10.5 15s
4. 4.88s and front and rear lockers (thinking detroit ,Arb or both. Any suggestions)
5. New CVs (mine are about to go out)
6. Bumpers F/R with winch in front
7. Sound system (put the head unit in my daily driver, so there is a hole in the dash!)
8. and then some cheap little things like diff breaters, etc

Not in that order, but the motor is going to be at the top of the list, cause a quart of oil every three days is getting pretty annoying and expensive

My original plan was to SAS it once I graduate, but the only terrain there is out here is mud. So I actually want to take it to some trails and see what she will do in "stock" form. Then I will upgrade to SAS once the IFS wont take me where I want to go.

Tell me what you think.

I think rebuilding the motor is your best bet, then throw in an engbldr 261 or 268 cam. Crane also comes to mind. All of these cams imho are much better value for the cash than the TRD. The LCE stroker kit maybe worth it, never ran into anyone with it.

Rear locker I would go with the powertrax no slip, its very nice onroad and is only about 400 for it online. Front I would run a detroit only after I took the truck wheeling to see what she can do with a rear locker.

I think the rest of your stuff is on par and a good idea. May want to do the balljoint spacers and work on the leafs for lift tho.

CJM: I am going to have to look at the powertrax no slip, I dont think I have ever heard about it. Yeah I was thinking about ball joint spacers too!!

Belize: I was actually thinking about that, but I would need a new transmission cause my truck is a 22re. And Everyone swaps, I want to see what I can do with the 4cyl. Also it would cost upwards of $4,000. And I want to see what the truck can do stock

I also forgot to mention, I still want to daily drive this truck!!

Congratulations on your graduation... [first to say that here lol]
excellent accomplishment... you can always go back for the yota course later... and even if you had a nissan course a yota dealer might still hire you and then you can go to the factory courses...

Congrats on the graduation ... I went to an auto school a few years back and take it from me... Yota would def. hire you without there classes being taken. They'll pay for you to go to there classes. They just like to see you made a commetment to something and that you have the mechanical know-how.

congrats on graduating i just got done with the 2 year auto program here as well but i've got another year of business before i get my AA.

weather you build the 22RE or swap for 5VZ-FE i would recomend switching your transmission for an R150 instead of the crappy W56. if you keep the 22RE you will need to find an R151 bellhousing to attach to the tranny but the rest of it (crossmember, driveshafts, et) works normally - just did it on a friends truck last month. just my recomendation because a built motor is only as good as its trans
