hi axleike,

yes they do... although, i've not done it.

i believe i saw pics on their www site.

i can try it in a few days.

it can also be taken down and stored like a convertible top... just undo all the snaps and fold the cross member forward or backwards.

the kit came with a "bag"/cover to hold the top so it doesn't become a parachute.

i've done that once.

i'll try to get pics.

This thread makes me want more and more to keep the 4runner just for the cool factor of the top.

Thanks Joel.

I don't like the look of the KTT, and soft topper is local to me, plus they have really helped a couple of guys I know. I'm going to swing by their shop soon, but wanted to make sure I could run "safari" style with it.

Cheers!

There is another brand called Can-Back. There tops look very nice and all, but they're pricey ($1300 or so -- ouch!)

I am purchasing a soft top this Spring, and I have made my decision based on price and functionality.

If it was only a matter of looks and the ability to customize color/tint, Killer Toy Tops would be my choice, as a professional graphic designer, I think Shawn did a great job matching the lines of the truck and it has a nice snug fit, and uses the rear window. Hats off!

As of now I will be purchasing the Softopper because of price, #1, and also the ability to fold back the whole top. The smoke tint is the only option you can get though, I can't even tell it's tinted, if they had a dark tint option, I think they'd sell more, someone else mentioned the tint issue as well.

Is there anyway to tint the vinyl without replacing it with a darker vinyl material?

It's still March and, by golly, this is important!!!
(for all the those who love a 4runner Summer)
