Soft Topper bikini top?

I have a SoftTopper that I love, but what I love even more is just driving with the top completely off (not folded down or whatever) and I was thinking it would be slick if SoftTopper made a bikini top that used the existing snaps for the canvas top. That way I could slap the bikini top on if the kids complain vs unfolding the full SoftTopper every time. I still use the full topper when I go camping with the family but for around town the bikini option seems to make the most sense. I reached out to them and asked if they had any plans to sell a bikini top that uses the existing rails and header but they said no.

I was thinking maybe I could follow one of the DIY guides on here to modify the CJ-8 bikini top or something similar by adding snaps? I just don't know enough about how these are constructed to know if I can even do that.

For those of you who have adapted another soft top, does this seem doable?

quit spoiling those kids...if they complain, make 'em get out and walk

don't know about 4runners, but check spiderwebshades..I have their mesh top on both my YJ and TJ and they work great..not specifically made for Toyota's, but you might find something that will meet your needs on their website https://www.spiderwebshade.com/collections/all-products
