So. Many. Wires.

My 22R-TE 4Runner came loaded from the factory. I like that. I'm also swapping in an LS1. I really like that. I don't like the fact that there are about 400 wires in the engine bay and all up under the dash. There are a ton of modules too. The PCM does cruise control and everything else on the LS I have. Is there a link anywhere as to what is needed to make the gauge clusters work (don't want to cut those) leave tail light wiring, and what else can be removed? The guy that bought my motor took the computer and harness for the RTE so I'll probably have to run new wires from the gauges to the pinouts on my new motor. On the digital gauges is there some controller somewhere else in the car?

It was an auto too, has a whole slew of wires for that...
