Smaller Tire Diameter?

ok I got the 22re 5 speed on 31's and it sucks with acceleration..4th gear in traffic on the freeway and sucks up hills. So Im thinking about getting smaller tires when that time comes but what will fit on my rims? They look about 8" wide rims? Stock size is about 28" tall? so what is a good size thats about 29~30 inch tall that will look/fit good on my rims?

I assume the taller tires kill my gas mileage a lil as well...my 5.0 stang even gets a lil better gas mileage

I used to have an 87 on 31s... i didn't really have any issues with its power... it is what it is. a 4 cylinder.

Smaller tires may help a bit, but it wont look nearly as cool.

I just bought 31's last weekend, there is a slight power difference then before when I ran the standard 225/75-15. I have a 22RE and like the guy said before me "it is what it is". It looks a heck of a lot better with 31's. If you switch to smaller tires you won't feel much of a difference.
