Some people say do, others say it effects torque readings, Mine were torqued dry with clean holes

If it hadn't been cranked up I would have just reused the head gasket. Opinions vary on that but in my experience they're fine until you crank the engine up.

Still, I don't fault you for being overly cautious...

I had the bottom end totally rebuilt, new pistons, rings, bored .020 over, all new top end stuff....................20 bucks for another head gasket??.......that's nothin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
