Short throw shifter for R150?
does anybody know if there is a short throw shifter package available for the R150 trans for the second gen runners??
if not, anyone know if there is a way to cobble one together?? i hate that the throw is soooooooo long with these 5 speeds...
Also, anyone ever send their ECU out to JET performance to have them tune it... the 3.0 only please...

Word on the Marlin Crawler forum awhile back, was that Marlin had a short shifter for the r150, but you had to send your shifter to them for modifications....
They never mentioned that it would be on the actual products pages though... I'd email them.
With my 3" extentions welded onto my shifters, its like driving a damn big rig!

Guys, the easiest way to covert to a short throw shifter is to add a 1"-1 1/2' block between the shifter base plate and the trans and then extend the bottom ball lever pivot 1"- 1 1/2". The bigger the block the shorter throw etc.
But I went further and after some thought adapted what I now consider to be the best shifter on the market as its operation and feel is truly exceptional, no more sloppy pins and with shift stops you can't damage gears with over zealous speed changes .

If you can provide a tracing or dimensions of the base plate, I can make up a short throw shifter kit for that transmission:

Beside the option shown above, also have a version that bolts the extension onto the existing shifter that is slightly lower cost.
I've been running the short throw on my W56 transmission for a number of years now and it works great:

Any short shifter for a MKIII Supra will work. They use W58, and R154 transmissions, which use the same shifter arm as the R150.
Suprasport has theirs on sale from time to time.

I use a modified URD Short Shifter for a 95-04 4x4 v6 tacoma. i had to modify the par that captures the ball because the tacoma shifter has a slightly smaller diameter (if you have a drill press and a hacksaw you can make the piece). Its about 125$
Or, LCE makes a shifter for the r150, its around $300 i believe, but it's complete bolt on.
My transfer case short shifter is from 4crawler.

I'd like to agree but the shifter base is different, so i dont know if it would work 100%... (you'd have to check)
