Short Gnd Wire In Ect

Ive Been On A Freakin Mission To Fix This Thing Myself And If I Didnt Have An Actual Toyota Service Manual Id Kill Myself By Now!!!im Pullin Codes 42,61,62,63 Ive Checked Both Speed Sensors Hints Code 42,61 They Checked Out Fine . So Now I Unhooked The Harness On The Ect Comp And Measured Resistance On S1,s2,s3,s4 And Gndthey All Were Within 11-15 Ohms. Then I Did A Manual Test, with Out The Harness Connected Of Coarse And It Still Wasnt Shiftin Right So Then I Retestedthe Connecter Again And Was Not Gettin Any Resistance At All !!! So Now Im Tracing The Ect Harness Wires Down. The Gnd Is Grn With A Yellow Stripe ,basically I Have An Intermiden Gnd Ive Cont Tested The Wire Up Till Just About The Speedo, Im Gettin Cont From There To The Connector So I Know Its Not The Ect Connector Does Any One Know Where This Harness Wire Ends Up??? , To Make The Actual True Ground For The Ect Computer.im Gettin Resistance If I Use A Jumper To The Body So I Think This Whole Gnd Thing Is F-n-up My Tranny Because The Tranny Works Fine On And Off But Mostly Off Sorry About This Long Ass Thread.but I Need A A340h Pro To Help Me Out, Im A Stubbern Bastard!!!

Which particular ECU pin do you want to know about.
The grounds in the ECU are not connected together, they're isolated to prevent noise in the system. Some are individual sensor grounds.

The best way to do it is the way you're doing it - FSM and trace the wires.

Sure that all the ground points on the motor and body are connected?

Hey, Thanks For The Advice The Computer Unit Im Checking Is The Ect Unit Not The Ecu. Are Those Grounds Connected ???im Now Going To A Garage To Work On It Some More Since I Dont Have One Damn Apartment Living Sucks!!! Im Definetly Going To Try And Follow That Gnd Wire Down To Its Termination. And I Was Also Goin To Check The Resistance On The Trans Thermo Sensor ,and Its Relay...do You Know If Solenoids Can Be Intermiten? Because The Damn Thing Shifts Fine When The Trans Fluid Is Hot And I Mean Really Hot Like When Your Doin 53mph Up A Hill In 3rd For About 3-5 Minutes!!! Thats The Only Time It Will Finally Lock-up The Solenoids And I Can Actually Come To A Stop In "d" And Have Up-shifts From 1-2nd-3rd And In3rd Have The Damn Button Shift It To 4th. But God Forbid There Be A Long Downhill And Cool The Tranny Off Then Its Back To Square One Again... Well Thats It For Now, If You Can Write Back Id Totally Appreciate It. Thanks Again ...

Thrasher, I read your post incorrectly.. I know nothing of the ECT and the auto tranny.. I wish I could help you more.

My only advice is to go through the procedures in the FSM.. If you need help with wiring diagrams, that may be something I can help you with.
