is it possible to put Pro comp ES9000 Shocks (rear) on a 94 4runner?

cause the dude who is installing mine says it isnt...?

i got from webfab under 1979-95 toyota 4runner/pickup?

shoudn't they work?

they have a loop instead of a stud

 

actually my back shocks have studs

so what do i do now....

 

If you have coil rear suspension you will have a stud at the top. Here's all the procomp applications. I have procomp ES9000's on my 93 and 95 models.

 

then where can i buy from that has stud suspension for my back then?

I bought mine from Summit Racing. The link is for standard shocks but they also stock the +4" ones if you're doing a lift.

His website lists the same shocks for the pickup and 4runner right through to 95, but the 4runner changed from leaf rears to coils around 1990.

 

instead of starting a new thread...i'll just post here cuz my question has to do with shocks on a 2nd gen 4runner.

i'm sure the shocks on my 4runner will need to be replaced sometime within the next few months.

it has a 4" trailmaster lift up front and trailmaster 4" lift coils in the rear.

no markings on the shocks other than some numbers..gonna run em in a bit and see what kind of shocks i have...they're silver with black boots?..reminds me of bilsteins.

i thought about the Adjustable rancho's...but i'm not much of a hardcore wheeler..and don't see how adjustables would help me.

would like to keep price as low as possible..but if a certain shock is A LOT better than another, and costs a little bit more..then so be it i want the BEST bang for the buck!

also probably going to go with a 2" lifted LC80 coils i believe..or maybe a 1" lifted set of coils...as my 4" coils are sagging.

I've got the Trailmaster lift on one of my trucks and it is +4" at the front and +3" coils in the rear as standard. Maybe why you think the back is sagging. Fitting +2 coils will make it worse not better, and fitting +1" coils will make it even worse.

Landcruiser coils are (stock) about as long as my +3" trailmaster coils right now.

therefore a +2" LANDCRUISER (LC80) coil will be about 5"-6" of lift. in the rear.

i should have specified...i didn't mean a +2" or +1" 4RUNNER coil...i meant LANDCRUISER coil.

i think i'd like to have the long ones for my rear(24" extended length)..and the 18"extended length ones for the front....correct? no? what? more info...never bought shocks for anything except stock vehicles.

 

My bad - over here people refer to landcruiser coils as +3" coils hence my confusion.

Fitting anything more than +3" over stock 4runner coils will require the proper drop brackets on the upper and lower links to stop the upper offside arm hitting the gas tank.

There's only 2 heights - standard or +4".

If you have lifted coils at the rear and bj spacers in the front then consider the +4's (personally I'd fit standard in the front unless you have a bracket lift)

If you're running stock coils etc then buy the standard height.

Look at post #3 - it's from the procomp catalogue and gives the part numbers you need.
