in the front the HD's are a 1/4" SHORTER than stock. Rear is the same length as stock.
I have the HD's on my truck and love them.
on my99' the PO put on KYB gas-a-just, and they work great, a bit stiff, but that's the way i like my suspension, over rough road i can fly like 30-40mph where a car would have to do 10-15

Not sure if above is true or not but, heres my story, bought my '93 extra-cab 4x4 v6/5spd earlier this year almost completely stock (oil filter, brake pads, etc.) with 69,500 original miles, it sat level, I installed a Warn winch bumper which is considerably heavier than stock, it squatted, the next day I installed the Bilstein HD's and it was back up level, no t-bar cranking, just the shocks and it handles awesome.

a cpl weeks ago i got rancho 500s or 5000s? put on with a new steering stabilizer (also ranch) and add a leaf and my truck handles awesome, not too stiff (but ya, a little stiff though) rides great and sits almost level with a bit of rake (which i like).

Ya, but the Edelbrock prices I've gotten are more than the Billi's and I don't think they are a better shock.

Thanks guys, this is helping a lot. I've read decent stuff about the Tokikos too. I just wish the Bilsteins were less money!

Bilsteins are worth the price, nobody ever says I want the fat, ugly chick hanging out in the corner, they want the hotty in the middle of the mix, so yeh you could get the pig with a BK burger or you could step up buy the steak and lobster and have the better ride!

Lol.. well said! So now, what do you guys think?

1) Bilstein HD: $249 shipped
2) Bilstein 5100: $279 shipped

Remember, my truck's a DD, I will do some crawling, and I have no lift and probably won't lift. Trying to follow the steps of tc, AxleIke, and others running no lift, armor & lockers.

i mean physically shorter.
they are nitrogen charged to give a bit of lifting force, thats why it sits higher.

I doubt you'll notice a difference, go with the HD... 5100's are if you are lifted. i think they are the same shock otherwise.
