Well then, maybe my lil problem will go away too. or i can just turn my stereo up one or 2 more clicks then no body can hear anything let alone my gears grinding. and if i turn up the bass then i wont feel the horrible grinding feeling in the stick lol

Mine has a similar problem. Well not really a problem, just a little anoying. Sometimes it can be hard to get all the way into first, but if I where to take it out of first then put it right back in. It will go in smoooth as butter.
I have learned to live with it. Figure once it gets bad I can scoop up a used r150 for $250

Before I order bushings from marlin, I thought I'd toss out a Question. I am at work so I don't have my Haynes, but I thought I read that I need a special tool to remove my shifter to change the bushings. Or perhaps it was a parts web page, like parts train or something... Anyway, I can't remember where I read it, but I read it somewhere. But from the posts above it sounds like it ain't no thing. Easy cheesy?

I didn't want to start a new thread for my problem. My 80' with the 4spd will pop out of reverse when I start letting the clutch out unless I hold the shifter back. It stayed in reverse as long as I hold the shifter all but once or twice it popped out while I was holding the shifter. Are these marlin parts what I need? I figure its worth a try before I throw a used tranny in or somthing. Thanks

Ok, I think i'll give them a try. Shipping better not be 20 bucks like someone said. Those parts gotta weigh ounces, lol.

edit: Ordered both the seat and the cup from marlin. usps priority was 99 cents, ups was 10 bucks....decisions.

I ordered one set, and it cost me $20 shipped up to canada

I ordered twelve sets, and it cost me $20 shipped to canada

You know what's weird? I found an OEM shifter seat bushing, still in its original bag, lying on the floor of my room. I don't ever remember buying it.

yea i ordered shifter seat and bushing and a seat for my transfer and shipping was just 99 cents, if you havent done this yet do it! its worth the 20 or 30 bucks. when i pulled out the stock seat it wasnt there, it was actually in pieces, like 12 pieces. lol. and my 4wd seat was all torn up, they shift SO much better now

I popped off the shift boot on the trans, and its just ugly, lol. Black gunk and no sign of a shift seat around the shifter. No wonder my shifter feels like jello, and hopefully why it wont hold reverse unless I hold the shifter back.

You guys have any tips for installing the new seat and cup?

By the way this is the part number for the dust cover of the front shifter stick: 33555-35040.

Final part numbers

tranny shift lever:
Socket - 33548-31010
Seat - 33505-35020
The seat and socket fit all: '81-'82 L45, 50; '83 L52 ; '84-'85 G52 ; '85-'87 G54;
'89-'95 G58 ; '85-'95 W56 ; '96-'03 W59 ; '86-'87 R151F ; '88-'03 R150F
The seat and socket will not fit the '79-'80 L43.

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...r-seat-187044/

Seems like there isnt any part number for the tcase... one guy says he used one out from his tranny and got it to work in the tcase.. worth giving a shot

Yes, I guess your right< I'll give it a try...!

-In your post (2008), you gave us 2 part numbers for the seats, Remember?
-I've used the 33505-35020 for my transmision (came out great).
-So there was one left 33505-35030...and now the socket 33542-31010...

...OK, so Thanks A LOT...! _Here's what I'm going to do: Tomorrow I'll send an email to the stealership and see if I can get an image of those two...

THANKS AGAIN For your patience man, take care.!
